The New Jersey Social Studies Supervisors Association is an organization that advocates and advances the study and teaching of social studies throughout the State and nation. It provides a program of professional activities for social studies supervisors and educators responsible for social studies instruction and provides a means for collaboration between supervisors and other professional organizations.

The NJSSSA is accepting nominations for the 2010 Award for Outstanding Service. Nominees must have demonstrated exceptional service to the social studies profession over a significant period of time in their local district, as a member of regional or state social studies organizations, or in social-studies related service activities.
